This time of the COVID-19 pandemic is certainly an exceptional circumstance.

Leaders and team members alike are called to adapt and work in ways that are different than normal. Change is often difficult, especially during a crisis. During this time, all members of the team have to be more mindful of the new working arrangements and each other to come through the crisis stronger than ever.

Working from home, or remotely, is one of those adaptations. You may be working from home -- or leading from home -- to help inhibit the spread of the COVID-19 virus to protect yourself, your family and your teammates. Though this is not a new concept at all, it may be the first time that you, as a leader, have had to lead your team in this way. It may be challenging for you and them.

The majority of Barry-Wehmiller's businesses are industrial manufacturing. In that environment, many people were not previously able to work remotely, and to do so has required significant adjustment. So this is new to many of our leaders and team members across the world.

Our Chief People Officer, Rhonda Spencer, and Barry-Wehmiller University Professor, David Vandermolen recently held a number of internal webinars to help our leaders adapt to remotely leading those within their span of care. We felt these webinars would be insightful to you, our blog readers and podcast listeners.

On this week's Everybody Matters Podcast, we present to you an edited version of one of those webinars.

We will only get through this time together as one big family, caring for each other. Everyone is essential. Everybody matters. Hopefully, we will all see each other in person soon.
