In 1987, Barry-Wehmiller made its first acquisition. Today, Barry-Wehmiller is a combination of the rich legacies and robust capabilities of more than 80 companies with more on the horizon. With every acquisition that we complete, however, our Guiding Principles of Leadership serves as our moral compass allowing us to create a better future for all stakeholders in the opportunity.
A few years ago, we decided to take the success of our experiences with acquisitions in the industrial manufacturing and engineering solutions spaces and apply them to other industries. Forsyth Capital Investors was formed as a hybrid equity firm to – unlike the typical private equity firm approach that prioritizes investor return – create great companies with rich legacies. Our approach is focused on building value, rather than extracting value. Forsyth Capital is now creating new business platforms in multiple areas.
On this episode of the Everybody Matters podcast, you’ll hear from John Quinn, the CEO of Engle Martin and Associates, a leading independent insurance services firm that has been part of the Barry-Wehmiller/ Forsyth Capital family since 2011. You’ll get to hear about John’s leadership journey and how Barry-Wehmiller’s cultural principles can be applied to industries other than manufacturing.
As Kyle Chapman, managing director of Forsyth Capital said, “John is an exceptional leader with an amazing passion for his people and for driving the Engle Martin platform forward. His leadership style is one that constantly shines light on all the great leaders in the organization and lifts them up for others to see. I have had the privilege of working with John over the last 5 years and what he and the team has accomplished is amazing – I can’t wait to see how he and the team shapes the next 5 years!”
